It may be an eye opener but the main causes of death in children under the age of five is not AIDS (3%) but Pneumonia (19%) and Diarrhea (17%) [via:unicef]. Unfortunately diarrhea is not as popular and advertizable as AIDS, so no one is going to raise funds for dying by bowel movements - although this would make a difference since the cost for its "cure" is litteraly cents. All they need is a solution of salts and sugar, here again, no cutting edge technology or complicated drugs to brag about in the news. Thank gods, we know which disease is in nowadays, otherwise we would have to count on these mundane statistics.

Then, with a witty smirk and pompous air of pretentiousness I start to perorate about the Milgram Experiment, Stanford Prison Experiment, the Bystander effect, conformity - films such as Das Experiment and Die Welle along with the documentary "The Human Behavior Experiments" (you know, the usual). If you're not aware of these, please do some research, you can start with 10 Notorious Cases of the Bystander Effect
